Secondary Analysis and Integration of Existing Data to Elucidate the Genetic Architecture of Cancer Risk and Related Outcomes.

The NIH has issued a call for applications that propose to conduct secondary data analysis and integration of existing datasets and database resources, with the ultimate aim to elucidate the genetic architecture of cancer risk and related outcomes. The goal of this initiative is to address key scientific questions relevant to cancer epidemiology by supporting the analysis of existing genetic or genomic datasets, possibly in combination with environmental, outcomes, behavioral, lifestyle, and molecular profiles data.

RDA Deadline: Deadline is open until 2020 with three cycles each year

Early consultation with RDA staff is essential - If you consider yourself a candidate or if you have collaborators, please update us at least one month prior to the cycle's deadline. Interested parties must register – with the RDA assistance – on era commons.

ADDF - Alzheimer's Drug Discovery Foundation (Letter of Intent)

The Alzheimer's Drug Discovery Foundation supports promising, diverse international research projects to develop new drugs for Alzheimer's and related dementias, including vascular, Lewy body, and frontotemporal dementias. Their goal is to fill the critical translational funding gap that exists between basic research and later-stage drug development. Available tracks:

  • Preclinical Drug Discovery - Drug Discovery Stage; High throughput screening, medicinal chemistry (including hit-to-lead development and lead optimization), in vitro and in vivo efficacy studies, ADME, toxicology, pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics, and in vivo proof-of-concept with lead compounds and biologics.
  • Program to Accelerate Clinical Trials (PACT) - Exploratory Phase 0 microdosing studies that assess preliminary target engagement and PK, Phase I safety testing, Phase 2 biomarker-based proof-of-concept clinical trials in patients, as well as IND-enabling studies to accelerate new drugs into trials.
  • Biomarkers Development - Development and validation of novel and existing biomarkers that will enhance the design and performance of clinical trials for Alzheimer's disease, related dementias, and cognitive aging.
