NIH- Public Policy Effects on Alcohol, Marijuana, and Other Substance-Related Behaviors and Outcomes
 
The purpose of this announcement is to advance understanding of how public policy may serve as a tool for improving public health and welfare through its effects on behaviors and outcomes pertaining to alcohol and other drugs. 
 
Projects that may be supported (but not limited to): causal analyses of the effects of one or multiple public policies; evaluations of the effectiveness of specific public policies as tools for improving public health through their effects on alcohol-, marijuana-, and other substance-related behaviors and outcomes.

The purpose of this initiative is to stimulate research into the functions of modified RNAs in the brain and/or the associated modification proteins that act on RNA and play a role in basic neurobiological and behavioral processes implicated in mental and substance use disorders.

Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development- Calls on Panama Disease  
 
The Chief Scientist’s Office at the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development,  in cooperation with the Plant Council, has issued a call for  proposals for 2017 for Panama disease.
 
The  Ministry is seeking to fund research whose results will contribute to solving  the problems defined in the call and serve farmers.  Research  should deal with innovative methods of dealing with Panama disease (in bananas)  and prevent its spread in orchards throughout the country.

NEW-  Joy Academic Grants for Neuro Wellness
 
Joy Academic Grants Fund was founded to jump-start, nourish and support scientifically based ideas and research that can ultimately provide cutting edge solutions for reducing stress and increasing mental and physical wellness. It is a part of a holistic effort of creating a joint collaborative eco-system, in Israel, between academia and industry, in Neuro Wellness.

Horizon Prize on Materials for Clean Air

To improve air quality in cities, the challenge set for this €3 million prize is to develop an innovative and well-designed material solution that will reduce the concentration of particulate matter in the air.
