The Ministry of Science, Technology, and Space - Biometrics and Safe Identification

The Ministry has published a Call for Research Proposals for 2017 in the field of Biometrics and Safe Identification.

Concern Foundation - Conquer Cancer Now Award (LOI)

Directed at independent investigators who are at the start of their scientific career. The foundation will grant $60,000 to young and innovative cancer researchers focused on cancer genetics, cancer biology and cancer immunology.

CEFIC-LRI European Chemical Industry Council - Long Range Initiative Calls

The Long-range Research Initiative (LRI) programme of the European Chemical Industry Council (Cefic) funds scientific studies related to the safety of chemicals and to the improvement of our understanding of their potential health and environmental risks.
LRI is now accepting grant applications to carry out research in the specific research areas listed in the link below.

Researchers from BGU are eligible applicants and collaborations between research institutions are encouraged.
Budget: from €175,000 to €600,000 (depending on the research area).
Duration of projects: from 18 to 36 months (depending on the research area).

Foundation Leducq Transatlantic Networks of Excellence Program (TNE)

Under the Transatlantic Networks of Excellence, the Foundation Leducq awards grants of up to U.S. $6,000,000 over five years for international collaborative research in cardiovascular and neurovascular disease.
 
Please note, The Israeli scientist can be a member of a network but cannot be the coordinator.

BARD - The US-Israel Bi-national Agricultural Research and Development Fund has published a call for proposals that covers all phases of agricultural R&D and that includes both strategic and applied research.

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) - LOI

The overall goal of the Specialized Center of Research (SCOR) mechanism is to enhance the development of innovative  strategies for the treatment, diagnosis or prevention of hematological malignancies.  
Strategies that move discoveries from the bench to the clinic are of high importance as are integrated translational projects.

Independent Research Fund Denmark

Denmark’s Independent Research Fund encourages Danish researchers to develop international collaboration and in at least some of its programs is ready to fund a non-Dane’s portion of a research project.  
If you have (or have reason to establish) a collaboration with a Danish researcher you should explore, together with them, the potential for the DFF to fund your collaboration.

NEW: The Brain Tumour Charity

This scheme is designed to promote innovative approaches that could fundamentally change our understanding, diagnosis and/or management of brain tumours.
This award is open to international researchers, but applications including a UK collaborator will be looked on favorably.
Funding of up to £120,000 over a 24-month period can be requested per project. The expectation is that this funding will lead to and support applications for larger scale projects to other national / international funding organizations.

National Road Safety Authority – Distraction Prevention
 
The National Road Safety Authority has issued a call for ideas and suggestions for preventing the distraction caused by mobile communications while driving. No funding is offered at this stage. For further information please see the detailed call for applications.
