Joint Canada-Israel Health Research Program
The program, which aims to promote research collaboration between Israeli and Canadian scientists, is supported by the Israel Science Foundation (ISF), the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR), the International Development Research Centre (IDRC), and the Azrieli Foundation, Canada.
For each proposal, one joint application in English is to be submitted through the CIHR (Canadian Institutes of Health Research). In parallel, the Israeli researcher must register on the ISF website and submit an administrative application to the ISF. Applications to the fourth cycle of the joint program should focus on issues of
neurological research, for example: - Molecular, genetic and epigenetic basis of neurological diseases
- Developmental neurobiology
- Neuroimmunology
- Neuroendocrinology
- Regenerative medicine in brain disease
- Cellular and molecular basis of cognition
- Modeling brain function
- Imaging of neural processes
- Brain-machine interface
- Novel technologies in neurobiology

The Gerda Henkel Foundation is a non-profit grant making organization. The foundation promotes science and supports specific projects in the fields of the humanities that have a specialist scope and are limited in time. A special concern of the Foundation is the advancement of postgraduates.

is sub-divided into five thematic areas:

- Public Policy and Human Security
- Patterns of Conflict Resolution between the State and Traditional Actors
- Non-Governmental Actors as Partners and Contenders of the State
- Security and Communication Strategies between Doctrine Formation and Implementation
