The Ministry of Science, Technology and Space has published 3 new calls 
 
1. Technology and innovation for the elderly - call for pre-proposals 2018
 
Research proposals should be Interdisciplinary and connect to the fields of bio-medicine, technology, and social sciences.
Proposals relating to the elderly within the topics of Robotics and Medical Equipment, may only be submitted within the framework of the Engineering call, which has been published two weeks ago.

Please note, in the Research Data tab in the electronic form, after selecting year, call reader and field, please mark Pre-proposal as the type of request.

2. German-Israeli Cooperation in Marine Sciences 2018

Israeli-German research teams are invited to submit joint proposals for research projects in the following areas:
Responses of marine ecosystems to global changeInnovation in operational oceanography

3. Establishment of Centers of Knowledge 2018
 
The Ministry has issued a call for proposals for the establishment of Centers of Knowledge in the following fields:
  1. Autism
  2. The history and heritage of Jerusalem and its environs
The knowledge centers systematically collect theoretical and empirical knowledge in a particular field, and develop and implement innovative research tools, methods, and technologies based on accumulated scientific knowledge, in order to provide the research infrastructure and knowledge accumulated by the scientific community and any other bodies required.

Please note that the researcher is required to pay a deductible equal to at least one third of the amount requested in the proposal for the purchase of equipment.
Because submission is complicated, it is essential that the RDA be informed as soon as possible of the intention to submit.

BSF-NSF Joint Program in Biological Sciences

The U.S.-Israel Binational Science Foundation (NSF-BSF) has announced the opening of a new round of applications in a joint funding program: Enabling Discovery through Genomic Tools (EDGE) together with the Integrative Organismal System Division (IOS).

The Ministry of Health and  EU-LAC (Community of Latin American  and Caribbean States) Health have published a pre-announcement for a call for proposals on the following topic:  “Infectious Diseases: Early Detection Research Including Both Screening and Diagnosis”.
 
Each consortium submitting a proposal must involve a minimum of three eligible partner institutions from three different countries with at least one country from each region, EU and LAC.

 Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) - Discovery Research - Letter of Intent

Discovery research includes the search for understanding the causes of disease, unraveling pathways involved in disease, identifying novel drug targets, and testing new strategies to treat disease.

Horizon 2020 - Work Programmes 2018-2020 Launched!

We are pleased to inform all researchers that the Work Programme 2018-2020 of Horizon 2020, the EU's Research and Innovation funding programme, has officially been published by the European Commission.

The calls of the Work Programme represent an investment of €30 billion. These calls offer an extraordinary opportunity offered  by Horizon 2020 to the scientific community and innovators to work together with counterparts from the EU and countries associated with Horizon 2020 in areas of mutual interest.  
In addition to this general opening, in this Work Programme, international cooperation in research and innovation has been strengthened with specific countries in areas of mutual benefit worth over €1 billion.

Katzir-Katchalsky Center - Organization of Scientific Conferences 2018-2019

The Katzir-Katchalsky Center offers funding for conferences covering a wide scope of areas of the life sciences, with emphasis on molecular mechanisms and interdisciplinary fields. Scientists from all Israeli institutions of higher education are eligible to apply. Please note that the center does not support serial conferences, or conferences organized in collaboration with societies, groups, or institutions.
