Ministry of Health - Call for Proposals

The Ministry has recently issued 3 calls for proposals:
 
1. National Palliative Care Program
 
In 2016, the Ministry of Health, together with JDC-Israel Eshel, launched the National Palliative Care and End of Life Program
The goal of this program is to add knowledge that can be used by the healthcare system in decision- and policy-making processes.

2.  Joint research on Diabetes
 
The Councils For Health, in cooperation with the Chief Scientist's Office, request proposals for setting measurable parameters for the National Program for the Prevention and Treatment of Diabetes.

3. Big Data  
 
The Digital Health & IT Department has issued a call for proposals in the field of Big Data. The scope of the proposals is the use of advanced data processing technologies based on the Timna (Big Data Research Infrastructure) platform. The proposals should help realize the potential of data for improvements in the health system.

Please note that the agreement with the Ministry has yet to be finalized, especially in terms of overhead costs.

Ministry of Science, Technology and Space - Slovenia-Israel Cooperative Scientific Research

Slovenian-Israeli research teams are invited to submit joint proposals for research projects in the following areas:
  1. Innovative Water Management and Monitoring Technologies (Including Remote Sensing)
  2. Digital Aspects of Research in Social Science and Humanities

1. Pre-Proposals - Minerva Centers 2018 on "Aging"

Minerva Centers deal with topics that are innovative and of special interest to the science community in Israel. The centers carry out research in
cooperation with German partners.  Centers will involve excellent researchers regardless of their institutional affiliation.
Call topics include: Human Aging; Material Aging; Aging of Infrastructure; Society Aging; Aging in the Literature; Aging of Theories; Aging of Knowledge; Plant Aging.
 
Budget of the Center:
The center will be funded by Minerva. Minerva funds will be matched with the same amount by the host institution, partially contributed in kind and the balance from the PI's own sources. Both amounts will make up the budget of the center. The budget will comprise a sum of up to € 150,000 per year.

2. Minerva - ARCHES German-Israel Cooperation Awards

The Award for Research Cooperation and High Excellence in Science (ARCHES) focuses this cycle of proposals on the fields of Humanities, Cultural Sciences, Sociology, Political Sciences, Economics and Law.
The Principal Investigators must have completed their doctorate no earlier than 2007.
Note: Minerva will endow only 1 ARCHES award.
Nomination: The Heads of Departments of German and Israeli universities and research institutions are eligible to nominate teams that qualify for ARCHES. Direct applications by candidates are not accepted.

Pazy Foundation (Atomic Energy Commission) - Call for pre-proposals 2019

The Pazy Foundation is a joint foundation established by the Israel Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and the Council for Higher Education which awards significant grants for research and equipment in the areas of physics, chemistry, engineering, and materials engineering.
 
Parties intending to submit proposals for equipment not related to a research proposal, must contact Tal.
Equipment proposals require matching funds supplied by the researcher's personal budget.

Please note that due to system maintenance, submission is only after January 20, 2018

Simons Foundation’s Targeted Grants in Mathematics and Physical Sciences (MPS)

The program is intended to support high-risk theoretical mathematics, physics, and computer science projects of exceptional promise and scientific importance on a case-by-case basis.

Air Force Office of Scientific Research

AFRL (Air Force Research Laboratory) focuses on research areas that offer significant and comprehensive benefits to the US national warfighting and peacekeeping capabilities. These areas are organized and managed in two scientific Branches:
  • Engineering and Information Sciences (RTA)
  • Physical and Biological Sciences (RTB)
 
Pre-proposal Inquiries and Questions can be emailed directly to AFRL representatives according to the topic of interest list in the call details file (page 79).

Swiss National Science Foundation Sinergia Programme 2017

Sinergia promotes interdisciplinary collaboration between two to four research groups whose project involves breakthrough research.
Applicants may be based at two or more institutions of higher education or other research institutions outside the higher education sector that are eligible for funding, in Switzerland. One applicant may be based outside Switzerland if their expertise is essential and if the overall number of applicants for the relevant proposal is three or four.

Horizon 2020 – 'Health, Demographic Change & Wellbeing' Partnering Event and InfoDay

Following the latest publication on the officially published Health Work Program 2018-2020 of Horizon 2020, please see the Health Information Day and Partnering Event organized by the EU.

The partnering event for the Horizon 2020 Health, Demographic Change & Wellbeing Work Program will take place on the 7th of December 2017 . 
 
The event is free of charge but limited to 2 persons representing the same department/organization
 
On the 8th of December 2017, the European Commission is organizing an Open Info Day dedicated to “Health, Demographic Change & Wellbeing (SC1)” challenge in Horizon 2020 and focusing on the 2018 call.

Do not miss an opportunity to attend both of these events and establish valuable contacts with other experts as well as European Commission representatives!
