The Israel Administration for the Development of Weapons and Technological Infrastructure (MAFAT) – Calls for Proposals

1. Advanced Photonics – Extension of Deadline
Mafat, in collaboration with The Israel Center for Advanced Photonics (ICAP), invites research proposals that will contribute to the development of weapons and the establishment of technological infrastructures for defense systems in the fields of Photonics and Electro-Optics.
The call covers topics with a potential contribution to applied defense R&D.

2. Satellite Communication
Mafat seeks research proposals in different research areas related to communication, such as: Hardware; Electromagnetism and wave propagation; Signal processing; Computer architectures; Systems Engineering; Satellite orbits and constellations.

NATO - Science for Peace and Security Programme

The Science for Peace and Security (SPS) Programme is a policy tool that enhances cooperation and dialogue with all partners, based on scientific research, innovation, and knowledge exchange.
NATO priority in research is in the following topics: Counter-Terrorism, Energy Security, Cyber Defense, Environmental Security and Disaster Management and Prevention, and more. Any application must directly address at least one of the SPS Key Priorities and have a clear link to security.
 
Application must be made by project directors from at least one NATO Member Country and one Co-Director from a NATO Partner Country

Britain Israel Research and Academic Exchange (BIRAX) on Aging – Pre-Announcement

The UK has launched a new fund to promote scientific collaboration and research between Israel and the UK into the aging process and its effect on human health.
The first call for proposals will focus on two broad themes:
  1. The impact of aging processes on human health
  2. Precision medicine and big data 
The call is expected to be published at the end of April.

KKL-JNF Wings - 2018 Call for Proposals

The KKL-JNF Wings operates birdwatching sites and activities throughout Israel. The organization supports research with the goal of connecting birds and people and thus contributing to the preservation of open spaces. Research proposals should be in accordance with the research objectives of KKL-JNF Wings for 2018, as detailed in pages 4-5 of the Call Details below.

Arizona State University - Ben-Gurion University – Joint Call for Proposals in Strategic Areas

The purpose of this call is to generate bi-lateral research proposals in the areas of: Nano-technology, Cyber, Light/Electro-optics/Space, Energy, Sustainability, Robotics, and Health.
Up to 2 awards will be made with the expectation that they will serve as the basis for eventual submissions to international funding programs.

The Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation (MMRF) – 2018 Research Fellow Awards

The goal of this initiative is to help support young investigators (clinical fellow or assistant professor levels who are beginning studies in the multiple myeloma field under the supervision of a research mentor or sponsor) while advancing the understanding of myeloma disease biology, treatment, and drug resistance.
