Research Infrastructures – from Excellence to Innovation

Research infrastructures (RIs) are recognised as key elements in achieving scientific excellence. They are defined as facilities, resources, and services used by the science community to conduct research and foster innovation. They include: major scientific equipment; resources such as collections, archives or scientific data; e-infrastructures such as data and computing systems; and communication networks.

RIs are privileged places where research meets innovation and industry. They bring together highly skilled scientists, engineers, technicians, and managers across geographical and disciplinary boundaries.

Facilitating access to RIs and maximising their use are high priorities for the European Commission (EC). To foster excellence, free-of-charge transnational or virtual access (TNA) is granted to researchers from academia and the private sector to many of the best laboratories in Europe. Under Horizon 2020, 40 000 researchers are expected to benefit from TNA. You can gain access to supercomputers, large installations, data, collections and archives.

To Identify the relevant RI opportunities in your field of interest please contact Ephrat Messing
If you are part of a Horizon consortium-in-the-making, please contact Lori Liss

The Ministry of Science, Technology and Space - Access to Venus images

The scientific center of the project is receiving Venus images, which are now available for partial download.
As of late April 2018, images can be obtained manually at the L1 processing level.
In order to jumpstart the process, the attached forms and applications must be filled in, signed and approved by the RDA.

Atmospheric repairs to the L1 level can be performed independently using 6S and ATCOR software. Details will follow.

Please let the principal investigator, Prof. Arnon Karnieli ([email protected]), know of any problem / anomaly, etc. in the pictures, if any, so improvements can be made in the future.
