ISF Personlized Medicine -
Advance notice and major principals of the new program
The Israel Science Foundation has launched a new research grant program in the field of Personlized Medicine based on molecular dynamics and their relationships to health and illness while relying extensively on patient medical information and medical samples.
For more detailed examples of potential research topics, please see section 1.3 on pages 2-3 of the Call Details.
It is expected that the proposals will involve cooperation between the research institutions in Israel and a health organization (hospitals, health maintenance service) and national health projects in Israel.
Anticipated schedule: The website will be open for submission in
September 2018. The submission deadline will be in December 2018. The registration deadline will be about 2 weeks prior to the submission deadline. Comprehensive guidelines will be provided when the foundation opens the website in September.

GIF (German-Israeli Foundation for Scientific Research and Development) 2018 Calls
The call covers both the GIF Young Scientists Program and the GIF Regular Program.
The GIF Young Scientists Program is open for submission in these areas:

Exact Sciences (Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics etc.)
- Engineering Sciences / Technology / Computer Sciences (and related)

Social Sciences (Economics, Education, Law, Political Science, Psychology, Sociology, etc.)
The GIF Young Scientists Program is directed at early stage scientists
who do not have
a research partner in Germany or any other scientific collaboration with a German researcher (such as joint publications).
Eligibility: The program supports researchers within 8 years after completing their PhD., M.D., or an equivalent degree (at the starting date of the Grant).
The
GIF Regular Program
is open for submission in the following areas: - Exact Sciences (Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics etc.)
- Engineering Sciences / Technology / Computer Sciences (and related)
The proposal should be designed for a duration of up to 3 years.
The GIF website will be open for electronic submissions in both programs from
August 15, 2018.

Extension of Registration Deadline - Japanese Israeli Collaboration – in the fields of Humanities and Social Sciences - Open to ISF active grant holders
The program promotes research collaboration between Israeli and Japanese scientists, with support provided by an agreement between the Israel Science Foundation (ISF) and the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS).
The program is open for projects in the Humanities and Social Sciences only to researchers who (at the time of submission) have an active Individual Research Grant, with at least two funding years of the grant remaining (not including an extension year).
Prior registration at ISF Online is mandatory by August 12, 2018 (13:00 pm)

Horizon 2020 – Breakthrough innovation in detection and imaging technologies ATTRACT – Open Calls for Proposals 2018
To bridge the gap between basic research and real market needs, ATTRACT is calling for researchers, entrepreneurs and companies to propose breakthrough projects on pioneering imaging and sensor technologies.
The ATTRACT Project will fund 170 breakthrough technology concepts in the domain of detection and imaging technologies across Europe. The projects will be awarded €100,000 each in seed funding to carry out their idea.
Proposals for projects are requested in the following domains: sensors, front and back end electronics, data acquisition systems and computing, software and integration.
The goal of ATTRACT is to transform breakthrough technologies developed for fundamental research purposes into breakthrough innovations that can be turned into sound industrial applications and provide added value for society.
Detection & imaging technologies affect all major technology areas:
- Advanced Manufacturing - Medical devices and imaging - Life Sciences & biotechnology - Clean & green technology - Sensors & automation - Materials & coating - Conventional energy - Information & communication - Microelectronics
Project proposals are to be jointly submitted by groups of
at least two independent partners (can be from the same country). A legal entity may participate in more than one proposal across the above domains, and the same group of participants may submit more than one project proposal in the same or other domains.
