Horizon 2020 – ITN - Innovative Training Networks 2019

Innovative Training Networks (ITN) aim to train a new generation of creative, entrepreneurial and innovative early-stage researchers to enable them to face current and future challenges and to convert knowledge and ideas into products and services for economic and social benefit.

ITN will raise excellence and structure research and doctoral training in Europe, extending the traditional academic research training setting, incorporating elements of Open Science and equipping researchers with the right combination of research-related and transferable competences. It will provide enhanced career perspectives in both the academic and nonacademic sectors through international, interdisciplinary and intersectoral mobility combined with an innovation-oriented mind-set.

Innovative training networks bring together universities, research centres and companies from different countries worldwide to train a new generation of researchers. The funding boosts scientific excellence and business innovation, and enhances researchers’ career prospects by developing their skills in entrepreneurship, creativity, and innovation.

In the last cycles of the ITN program, BGU researchers have been involved in winning proposals:
- Prof. Yael Edan, Prof. Galit Nimrod, Prof. Tal Oron-Gilad, Dr. Simona Bar-Haim, Dr. Hila Riemer and Dr. Raziel Riemer with SOCRATES
- Prof. Opher Donchin with PACE
- Prof. Amir Aharoni with ES-CAT
- Prof. Yuval Goren with ED-ARCHMAT
