Horizon 2020 – Joint Research Centre Visit to the JRC - ISPRA facilities this November
The Israel Ministry of Energy, Chief Scientist's Unit is organizing a visit to the
Joint Research Centre (JRC) facilities in Ispra, Italy in order to create and promote collaborations on various research topics. The visit is scheduled for November 29-30.
The JRC is the European Commission's science and knowledge service, which employs scientists to carry out research and provide independent scientific advice and support to EU policy. The JRC collaborates with over a thousand organisations worldwide whose scientists have access to the many JRC facilities through various collaboration agreements. It hosts specialist laboratories and unique research facilities and is home to thousands of scientists.
The JRC is spread across six sites in five different countries within the EU: Belgium (Brussels and Geel), Germany (Karlsruhe), Italy (Ispra), the Netherlands (Petten), and Spain (Seville).
The JRC in Ispra is the third largest research site in the European Commission, after research sites in Brussels and Luxembourg. Established in 1960 as a nuclear research site, today it is considered one of Europe's leading research campuses with many laboratories and unique research infrastructures.
