Horizon 2020 Spotlight

RICH 2020- Research Infrastructures Consortium for Horizon 2020
Transnational & Virtual Access of European Research Infrastructures (RI)

Research Infrastructures are facilities, sources and services that assist researchers to conduct research while using facilities that are not located in or owned by each institution.
There are two types:
Transnational Access (TA)- equipment located in either one location or a net of infrastructures in various places.
Virtual Access (VA)- on-line infrastructures.

If application to the RI is granted, researchers will gain free use of the facility. Some RIs also cover the cost of transportation and accommodation (each RI has its own policy).

For each RI, application  is submitted separately and directly according to its guidelines.

NSF-BSF Program in Molecular and Cellular Biosciences

The NSF-BSF is accepting applications in the joint funding program in  Molecular and Cellular Biosciences (MCB), with the U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF).

This program has no deadline and submission is welcome throughout the year.
Note: this situation has resulted in a decrease in applications and thus an increase in the success rate.

Worldwide Cancer Research Fund (formerly AICR)

The goal of the WCRF is to support research that will help reduce the incidence of cancer or improve cancer survival.
WCRF awards grants to support fundamental or translational research into the causes, mechanisms, diagnosis, treatment or prevention of cancer.
This remit is usually interpreted conservatively.
Note:
Worldwide Cancer Research will only accept the first 500 applications submitted in the grant round.
A research group can only submit a single application per grant round.
